Product Safety

Last updated October 14, 2026

A camera with a battery and a bright light, a case with magnets, a strap made of small beads: each needs a little care. This page brings together the safety information for every PIKARI product. The quick start guide and the instructions in the box come first: please read them before use and keep them.

For every product

  • Our products are made for teens and adults. None of them is a toy. Keep them, their accessories and their packaging out of reach of young children and pets.
  • Use each product only for what it is made for, as described in its instructions.
  • Stop using a product that is damaged, and contact us.
  • Never use the camera while driving, cycling or doing anything that needs your full attention.

The camera: built-in lithium-ion battery

The camera runs on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery built into the camera. Lithium-ion batteries are safe when they are treated well, and can overheat or catch fire when they are damaged, overheated or charged badly.

Charging

  • Charge it with the USB-C cable supplied, from a standard USB power adapter in good condition plugged into a wall outlet, or from a computer's USB port. A power adapter is not included. Do not use a damaged cable or adapter.
  • Charge it on a hard, flat surface, at room temperature. Never charge it on or under a pillow, a bed, a sofa or a cushion, or inside a bag or the case.
  • Do not leave it charging unattended, overnight or when nobody is at home. Unplug it once it is charged.
  • The camera can get warm while it charges or records video for a while. That is normal. If it gets too hot to hold, unplug it, switch it off and let it cool down.

Heat, water and impacts

  • Do not leave the camera in a hot car, in direct sun, on a radiator or near a heater or a flame, and do not store it anywhere very hot or very cold.
  • Keep it dry. The camera is not made to get wet: do not use it in the rain, in the shower, in the pool or the sea, and do not drop it in water. If it gets wet, switch it off, do not charge it, and contact us.
  • Do not drop, crush, bend or puncture the camera, and do not put heavy things on it.
  • Do not open the camera, do not try to remove or replace the battery, and do not modify it.

Warning signs

If the camera swells, leaks, hisses, smokes, gets very hot or smells unusual:

  1. unplug it, if it is charging and you can do so safely, and stop using it;
  2. keep away from it and keep it away from anything that can catch fire;
  3. do not charge it again, do not ship it and do not put it in the trash;
  4. email us with photos. We replace or refund it and tell you how to recycle it safely.

If it catches fire, get everyone out of the room, close the door and call 911.

The camera: LED ring light

  • The ring light is bright at close range. Do not look straight into it from very close, and do not shine it straight into anyone's eyes at very close range, especially babies and animals.
  • If you are sensitive to bright light, start with the light off or at a distance.
  • Switch the light off when you do not need it.

The camera: memory card and small accessories

  • The memory card, the USB card reader and the cable are small enough to be swallowed or to choke a young child. Keep them away from small children and pets.
  • Insert or remove the memory card only when the camera is switched off.
  • Your photos and videos are stored on the memory card. Copy the ones you want to keep to another device regularly: we cannot recover them if a card is lost, damaged or erased.

The camera case: magnets and strap

  • The flap closes with magnets inside the case. If you have a pacemaker, an implanted defibrillator or another implanted medical device, keep the case at the distance your doctor or the device maker recommends, and do not carry it against your chest.
  • Keep the flap away from cards with a magnetic stripe, such as hotel key cards.
  • Do not leave the camera in its case in a hot car or in direct sun, and do not charge the camera inside the case.
  • The shoulder strap is long enough to wrap around a neck. Keep the case and its strap away from young children.

The flower bead strap: small parts

Warning: choking hazard. Not a toy. Contains small parts. Keep away from children under 3.

  • The beads, the flower charm and the metal clasp are small parts. If the cord breaks, they can come loose.
  • Wear the strap on your wrist only. Never wear it around the neck, and never put it around anyone else's neck.
  • Do not swing the camera, a phone or keys by the strap, and do not use it to hang anything heavy. It is a decorative wrist strap: it is not made to hold a camera in place during sports or over a height.
  • Check the cord, the beads and the clasp from time to time. If the cord looks worn, a bead is loose or the clasp does not close properly, stop using the strap.
  • Keep it away from heat and sharp objects, which can damage the beads and the cord.

The wrist strap that comes in the camera's box also needs care: put it on your wrist before you take photos, and do not swing the camera by it.

First aid

  • If a child may have swallowed a small part, such as a bead, the flower charm or the memory card: get medical help right away. If the child is choking, has trouble breathing or cannot speak, call 911.
  • Burns: if you touch a hot battery or device, cool the burn under cool running water for at least 10 minutes. Do not use ice, butter or creams. Get medical help if the burn is large or deep, if it is on the face or the hands, or if a child is burned.
  • Battery leaks: do not touch any liquid that leaks from a battery. If it gets on your skin, wash with plenty of water. If it gets in your eyes, rinse them gently with running water for 15 minutes and get medical help.
  • Smoke: if a battery smokes, move away and get some fresh air.

Battery and electronics disposal

  • The camera contains a lithium-ion battery. Never put it in your household trash or curbside recycling bin, where batteries can start fires in collection trucks and recycling facilities. Do not try to take the battery out.
  • When the camera reaches the end of its life, take the whole camera to a battery drop-off point, an electronics recycling point or a household hazardous waste collection, following your state and local rules. You can find drop-off points near you through Call2Recycle and read more on the EPA website. Your city or county can also tell you where to go.
  • Before you recycle or give away the camera, take out the memory card or erase it, so your photos and videos do not go with it.
  • The case and the strap can go in your regular trash, or be given away if they are still in good condition.

Reporting a safety concern

If you think one of our products is unsafe, stop using it and email us at jazza95@hotmail.fr with "Safety" in the subject line, the product name, your order number if you have it, and photos if you can. We treat safety messages as a priority. If anyone has been hurt, get medical help first.

You can also report an unsafe product to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission at SaferProducts.gov.

Recalls and safety notices

If we ever need to recall a product or share a safety notice, we will email everyone who bought it, using the email address given with the order. We will also publish a notice on this page and on the product page, explaining clearly what to do and how we will put it right, at no cost to you. Product recalls in the United States are also listed on the Consumer Product Safety Commission website.
